In part one (Side A) of this lecture Anthony Mann discusses the characteristics and attributes of different typefaces. Mann talks about the skill and process of designing a typeface, and the different process’s of getting text onto paper press. Mann also talks about how different typefaces or letter forms have strong characteristics tied to nationalism. In part two (Side B) of this lecture Mann continues his conversation on letter type design and characteristics. Mann explains a shift towards more decorative type, and how this effects type setting.
